Ronnie
O'Sullivan reached the knock-out
phase of the Daily Star Premier League with a 5-3 victory
over Steve Davis.The world champion achieved four out of four
with an assured performance that guarantees his place in the
semi-finals at Glenrothes in May.
After
32 minutes, O'Sullivan was 4-0 ahead, looking in excellent
form. He was scoring runs of 48 in the first frame then 77,
52 and 75 but Davis kept in touch, stealing the fifth frame
on the black thanks to a 40 clearance then he got the sixth.
With O'Sullivan capturing the seventh, Davis potted a show-stopping
131 to clear, making it the highest break of the competition
so far.
