Ahe Chinese word for China actually mean 'middle country', it is not surprising then to find that a Chinese map places itself right at the centre of the world.

You can see that the rivers, towns and cities are all clearly marked on this map. The detailed notes around the edges give information about these. The Great Wall is clearly visible across the centre of the map.

To the left of the map it is possible to make out Africa and Europe with the Mediterranean Sea in between them. In the bottom right-hand corner the legendary 'Country of Women' (as Marco Polo described it) can be seen, this is possibly Brazil.
