* The Squire's Tale from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales
page 2
Detail of Chaucer manuscript
The Pupil's Tale:

Although the Squire never finished the whole story, he did go on to describe the magic powers of these four gifts.

BulletWhat do you think they might be?

BulletInvent magic powers for each gift and then continue the story, so that someone uses each gift at least once… You could tell it in the third person, or pretend to be the King's son or daughter. (If you want to use the names Chaucer used, the King's two sons were called Algarsyf and Cambalo and his daughter was Canacee.)

Either way, imagine yourself sitting on horseback, telling the story on your way to Canterbury. Keep hold of the reins, but let your imagination fly!
